Pray with the Students of the Academy

Donna Wallace
Each day the students of the Academy will pray the Angelus before lunch at 11:55 a.m.  We invite you to join us.

The Angelus is a simple, brief prayer that the Church offers three times a day: morning, midday, and evening.  The prayer’s three parts focus on the Incarnation and honor Mary’s fiat (Let It Be Done).  First, we commemorate God’s profound love and mercy in becoming man to save us (“She conceived by the Holy Spirit”).  Next, we reflect on Mary’s response to God’s invitation—the response we should all have (“Be it done unto me according to your word”).  Last, we remember the constant loving presence of God (“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us”). Since medieval times, Christians have prayed the Angelus to begin, continue, and end the day with an eternal perspective.
